Digitizing Private Securities for Seamless Investing with Dijitru
The advent of blockchain technology and cryptocurrency led to technological advancement in many industries, Real Estate inclusive, especially through tokenization.
Dijitru’s vision was to leverage this technology to create digital tokens of commercial real estate assets and makes them accessible for investors of any level.
Our ambition was to create an application that brings issuers (real estate proprietors) and investors together with a lower cost of capital to build wealth.

Objectives
Our high-level goals were to:
Create an environment for institutional grade access to real estate investment
Allow investors to track cashflows and equity gains
Give issuers access to a global pool of fully compliant investors
Enable efficient investor management processes
Streamline and simplify the contractual connections between Issuers and Investors
Results
We launched an MVP after research, design, testing and iteration from feedback that allowed users from
The improved onboarding process resulted in a 35% increase in new user adoption rates.
The addition of personalization and customization options enhanced user engagement, leading to a 25% increase in user retention rates.
Research & Analysis
At the inception of the project, we spent some time carrying out competitive analysis and research on products with similar value propositions. Our goal was to understand the challenges investors face in searching for, identifying and investing in real estate assets as well as those they face in tracking and managing multiple investments across several assets from different issuers. We also wanted to identify the challenges issuers faced in putting up their assets for investments and in managing these investments so we can properly digitize and streamline this process. Some of the results we identified from our research are:
The process for onboarding assets for issuers needs to be simple, easy to understand and discontinuous such that the issuer can start and continue at any time without losing their progress because of the regulatory requirements of putting up an asset for investment.
Issuers need a custom marketing view for each asset to be able to adequately describe and sell the unique value of their assets
Investors need a portfolio view where they can monitor and gain insights about their investments (individual and collective) and make any desired actions easily.
Investors need to be able to project returns from an investment based on invested capital and other terms of investment even before investing.
Ideation & Information Architecture: Based on these insights, we put down our ideas in an affinity map and grouped them based on their similarities. We started from the issuer and eventually moved to the investor.
Sketches & Wireframes
Wireframing & Prototyping: We designed low-fidelity wireframes to visualize the new layout and navigation, iteratively refining them based on user feedback. Afterward, we built a high-fidelity, interactive prototype to test the design.

User Testing, Feedback & Iteration
Usability Testing: We conducted usability tests with a diverse group of users to validate the design and identify areas for improvement. Based on the feedback, we made necessary adjustments to the design. Some of the feedback we received were:
Users need to be able to register using both social signup and web3 authentication to increase security and reduce signup time.
Confirming if the issuer was an individual or a business entity at the beginning of registration was pivotal for an effective onboarding journey for the user.
Visual Design & Style Guide: We developed a cohesive visual language, including color schemes, typography, and iconography, ensuring consistency throughout the app. We also created a style guide to maintain design consistency in future updates.
Hi-Fi Design
After multiple iterations, we eventually arrived at a high fidelity design that went into development for the MVP.
